Extreme Julie Goodwin: The Skydive

Story

Extreme Julie Goodwin: The Skydive

Listener Lyn has issued a challenge to Julie Goodwin... The challenge, raise much needed funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service by Sky Diving!

Known for her fear of heights, Julie will be stepping up to the plate, taking the challenge and sky diving on Friday the 6th of April!

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Julie Goodwin completed the Leaders Leap, abseiling off the Crown Plaza in Terrigal in 2016, raising over $3,000 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

Julie will once again face her fears when she Sky Dives out of a perfectly good plane, again aiming to raise a minimum of $3,000 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

To turn Lyn's challenge into a reality, Julie needs the support of the community to achieve her goal. Every little bit helps!

To follow Julie's journey, be sure to tune into Rabbit and Julie Goodwin for Breakfast, 6am to 9am, Monday to Friday on Star 104.5.

About the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service

No one has ever had to pay to be assisted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. That is because people in our community, along with the NSW Government, through NSW Health and NSW Ambulance, provide the funds to ensure the rescue helicopters are there when, and where, they are needed.

The Rescue Helicopters operate from three bases at Belmont Airport (Newcastle), Lismore Airport and Tamworth Airport. Deep maintenance, engineering and administration are at Broadmeadow (Newcastle).

At each base there are hangar and engineering facilities, crew accommodation and office space for staff. The bases also include refueling and maintenance facilities. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service operates four AW139 helicopters between the three operational bases.
